Day 1 of Demo

This past Saturday brought on the demo.

Initally David thought he could handle the demo all by himself. Pulling up the carpet - yes. Pulling up the linoleum - not so much. Safe to say, I had to step in and help. We managed to get all of the linoleum pulled up in the dining room and kitchen within a few hours thanks to the great advise of my father.

We then made our first trek to the Columbia County Transfer Station (also known as the dump).
We managed to get by with a $12 charge for everything.

The next step was to remove the baseboards \ trim. If you haven't been to our house, we have a TON of trim... And it appears the trim was painted on, so the walls and trim now need to be re-painted... Yay! (sarcasm...)

Sunday was the day to tear out all of the particle board so we could replace it w/ sturdier plywood. Once again, David thought he could tackle it all by himself but I called in the troops (my family)! Continue on to Day 2 of Demo for more info :)
